Medical Advice

ShoulderDoc cannot answer unsolicited medical questions sent from patients or relatives to us either by e-mail or through the website. Clinical advice must be obtained from your own general practitioner or surgeon if you have medical questions. Unsolicited E-mail asking for medical advice, surgical or physician referrals and sources of medical information will not be answered. The General Medical Council of the United Kingdom has given the following advice to doctors in relation to e-mail consultations. There are problems in providing e-mail consultations because: 1) The doctor asked to discuss e-mail cases will not know the full anonymous patient details. 2) Not all facts including the findings from a physical examination of the patient and the past medical history may be known. 3) There will be no provision for the monitoring of a case or follow-up care.
