Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist

Dr Harris is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist with an interest in imaging of the musculoskeletal system and sports injury.

He was awarded as a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in November 2000 and following his training in Manchester, was appointed as a Fellow in Musculoskeletal Radiology by the University of Toronto, Canada in 2002. In 2003 he was appointed Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Hope Hospital in Salford.

He supports the Shoulderdoc practice and the Manchester Sports Medicine Clinic. He also provides a service to physiotherapists, podiatrists and club doctors of Rugby League and Premiership Football clubs.

Specialist interests include Musculoskeletal ultrasound for tendon and muscle pathology including assessment of groin pain.
Interventional procedures include Ultrasound–guided injections and barbotage treatment of calcific tendonosis of the shoulder. He also performs MR arthrography and spinal injections.

Research interests include shoulder instability imaging and MRI of injured cartilage.
He is a lecturer at the University of Salford and at the Manchester Radiology Training Scheme. He also lectures nationally on shoulder and musculoskeletal ultrasound and musculoskeletal MR.

Dr Harris is an alumnus of Bury Grammar School and Manchester University. He lives nearby, is married to Sarah and has three young children with whom he spends his leisure time.
